Missions at Crestview support a wide and diverse group of special needs as near as Crestview and as far away as Peru, Poland, Kenya and Bolivia; free and imprisoned; young and old; Gentile and Jew; all in need of Christ's love thru his children. These missions are briefly described as follows:
- Worldwide missions are supported in Bolivia, Peru, Kenya, Poland and Latin America. Bill and Bev Smith live in Santa Cruz, Bolivia and are working in the growth of a new church, teaching English and providing basic instruction in First Aid Skills. David Smith works in San Jose, Peru with the Word Made Flesh team supporting impoverished and often homeless children who live off the streets. David has committed to another 3-year stay and is making a difference with the children. Debra and Pastor Rick Slingluff, both trained teachers, live in Nairobi, Kenya. They have been instrumental in the planting and support of Nairobi Chapel and other churches, helping educate and prepare locals for leadership in the new churches. Poland is also supported by our trips made by church members to teach English to Polish children and introduce them to the Gospel. Pastor Krzys from Ilawa, Poland has visited us and become a good friend. Finally, we support Latin American children through Curamericas. This ministry helps children in Bolivia, Guatemala, Haiti and Mexico. We pray for all our friends worldwide!
- Locally we support Sharing and Caring, the Crestview Pregnancy Center, FUMC Disaster Relief, Parthenon Nursing Home (providing Upper Room materials), The Crestview Ministerial Association, The Salvation Army, Kiaros Prison Ministry, Children in Crisis (provides shelter and Christian teaching to homeless children in Walton & Okaloosa counties), Waterfront Rescue Mission and Blue Lake Methodist Camp.
- Finally, FUMC missions help financially support individuals involved in local and worldwide missions. We support United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM) and fund scholarships /grants for full-time Christian Ministry Students through the Asbury Foundation. Finally we have taken on a new mission supporting Jews for Jesus in recognition of the prophetical importance in seeing Israel and Jews worldwide accept the truth of Jesus Christ.
