Centennial of Crestview First

A word from the senior pastor

Welcome Home! First United Methodist Church of Crestview is celebrating 100 years of Methodism (1908-2008). In this centennial year of celebration, our church is very much a part of the heartbeat of this growing city. Our forefathers who planted Methodism in this city did so with great vision and faith in God. Today that same vision for growth is very much alive for continued growth in expanding the kingdom of God.

I am delighted to be the senior pastor of this church with the opportunity for making and growing disciples. Our mission statement has three major parts: Lead people to Jesus Christ; Involve them in taking care of one another; and Equip them to make disciples everywhere.

As a church, we are growing, learning, sharing, worshiping, visioning, praying and believing God for great miracles in the lives of people was are seeking for Christ and His church. We believe there is life transforming truth through Jesus Christ. We believe there is hope, healing, forgiveness and immediate help for those who put their trust and faith in Jesus Christ. As you read this page, we reach out to you as well. Our doors are open. Our hearts are open too. If you have been thinking, praying, searching and hoping for a place to belong, I say again, welcome home.

Because of Jesus,
Pastor Bruce

Four Services, Only One Spirit

Kevin and Paul would like to invite you to participate in one of our four services. We have two traditional services on Sunday morning that are wonderful expressions of high church with a magnificent pipe organ as the centerpiece of the 11 o'clock worship experience and a pair of beautiful stained-glass windows as the centerpiece of the 8 o'clock service. If you enjoy great hymns, then we invite you come to the 8 or 11 o'clock services, where Kevin leads the singing. We have one contemporary service at 9:12 in the morning that is a blend of top-40 Christian music and performance pieces written by several members of the praise team. This is a high-energy service and does not fit the normal Methodist framework. However, all of our services work to one end, and that is to bring glory to our savior Jesus. Styles may be different, but the heart is the same. We hope you eventually feel that you could attend either morning service and realize that we are the same family.

Our fourth service is on Sunday nights and is an acoustic-feel praise and prayer service led by Paul. These are gentle services that focus on the power of prayer with healing services and what we like to call soaking prayer services. So, we invite you to try all of the services and find the part of our family that suits you best.

Musically,
Kevin and Paul

Welcome Home to our new Associate Pastor

Brandon DasingerBrandon DasingerSend e-mail

The congregation of First United Methodist Church of Crestview would like to welcome the newest member of the church staff.  Rev. Brandon Dasinger joined us the beginning of July as our Associate/Youth Pastor.  He and his wife Kelli relocated to Crestview from Kentucky where he graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary and was youth pastor at Hope Springs UMC.  He has already been broken in by the youth group here by having a get together at their new home.  God has blessed this man with knowledge and an ease of speaking.  The youth and the congregation are excited about the enthusiasm he brings with him to the church.  We look forward to many years of serving Christ with Brandon and Kelli.

Changes in our Children's Ministries

A word from the children's minister

I would like to invite you to come and check out our exciting children's programs that we do on Sunday and throughout the year. I invite you to contact me if at any time you have a question or need to know where your child should be. We have been making huge changes in nurseries and programming for Sunday morning worship. We now have a children's moment at both the 9:12 service and the 11:00 service, so when we call them up, please bring your child. Our children's church is a full church experience with an interactive lesson and prayer. Our Sunday school teachers are committed to your children and their spiritual development. Our 11:00 Sunday school is very different from the traditional style. It is rotational style where we emphasize a story monthly. It keeps the kids moving and the stories alive. So join us Sunday morning, and don't be afraid to pull me aside and ask a question.
